How to apply
Before downloading the full guidelines and application form, you should read the following information.
The full board of Trustees meets quarterly and you can make an application at any time during the year. Applications will normally be placed before Trustees at the next quarterly meeting following submission, so long as the application and all the necessary supporting information is received at least eight weeks before the date of that meeting. There are no deadlines and you should send in your application as soon as you are ready to do so.
You should read the guidelines carefully to make sure that your organisation and your project is eligible. You should then complete the application form, which is attached to the guidelines, and send it to the Trust with all the relevant supporting information from the checklist at the end of the form.
You must include details of your organisation's bank account, the your latest audited accounts and annual report, a budget for the project and details of other sources of funding. Your application will not be considered without your organisation’s audited accounts. If you are applying on behalf of a new organisation, with no accounts, you should submit copies of your bank statements and detailed management accounts instead.
If the application does not fall within the Trustees' current priorities, you will be informed within two weeks of the submission. All eligible applications will be acknowledged within two weeks and any necessary further information requested.
Trustees run a small grants fund and have set aside 10% of their annual grant giving budget from each of the priority areas for applications of £5,000 or less. These applications normally require less detailed assessment, whereas a site visit or meeting may be required for larger applications. Applicants for sums of less than £5,000 should include the names of two referees from organisations with whom they work.
Trustees have decided that they wish their grants to make a significant impact. You should therefore set out clearly the grant you require so that your project can proceed. Trustees are rarely, however, the sole funder of projects and you should therefore make every effort to raise funds from other sources..
