Helping those in the criminal justice system

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, we gave grants to individuals and families affected by the criminal justice system. For example, £7,000 went to The Terrence Higgins Trust to produce pamphlets aimed at preventing the spread of HIV among drug abusers and prisoners. We granted £15,000 to the Mental Health Foundation to support setting up a bail hostel in Birmingham for defendants suffering from mental illness.
