Pilgrim Trust Annual Report 2025

July 2026 | News

The Pilgrim Trust awarded nearly £3 million in grants last year to help preserve the nation’s heritage and support high-quality mental health services for young women.

From conserving the spectacular Peebles Bronze Age hoard to making anti-apartheid materials accessible to the public; from grants towards transforming historic buildings into community hubs to improving young women’s mental health – all of our grant funding is designed to enhance wellbeing through cultural heritage and social initiatives.

We report on our partnership programme to fund internships to address critical skills shortages and on the key principles for creating a good mental health service for young women. We fund and partner with organisations that share our commitment to delivering positive and lasting change.

In 2025 we awarded £2,905,531 in grant funding across the UK. Eighty grants were awarded through our preservation and conservation programme, coming to a total of £1,559,618 and 18 awards were made through our Young Women in Mind programme to the value of £1,228,413, an additional £117,500 was awarded in Research, Advocacy and Development.

In 2025 our grant giving objectives were:

— Conserving cultural heritage and increasing access to conservation expertise.

— Creating pathways towards sustainable futures for historic buildings, particularly those at risk.

— Improving access to high quality mental health services for young women.

— Working in collaboration and partnership to strengthen the sectors in which we work.
